Great Hollands is a club open to people of all abilities both young and old.  We love new members, both experienced and beginners, and you will be made to feel very welcome as a member of the ‘club family’.

If you want to find out more, then please come along and visit us at any time during the summer season.

Bowls should be fun and enjoyable.  Members range from those who enjoy a social roll up with friends to those experienced bowlers competing at county level.  Whatever you like you can be sure to find like minded members at Great Hollands.

Membership entitles you to practise on the outdoor green during the playing months April to September and to use the clubhouse facilities throughout the year.  Additionally you can join in friendly inter-club matches and enter competitions if you wish.  During the playing season there are always activities on during the week and at weekends.  Great Hollands probably has the best setting of any club in the area and what better way to spend a summer’s evening than bowling on the green as the sun goes down and enjoying a drink from the bar.

Out of season we hold a number of short mat sessions a week, have teams in a local cribbage league, hold regular social events and the clubhouse is open Sunday lunchtimes for socialising.

They say bowls takes seconds to learn and the rest of your bowling career to master.  At Great Hollands we have free coaching sessions on Saturdays throughout the bowling season from 10:00 to 12:00 for newcomers and members to help you on your way.  We are lucky to have a modern clubhouse with a licensed bar, men’s and women’s changing rooms open daily to members through the summer.

At Great Hollands we believe that people need to try before they buy. As well as our open days we will organise ‘have a go’ sessions for anyone interested in Bowls.  The club has a selection of bowls that can be used for these sessions.

If we’ve tempted you to try it out or if you simply want more information, we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us by completing the form on the contacts page or by contacting the membership officer via the membership page.
